hundred waters - currency ep
If you haven't heard of American band Hundred Waters yet, you're in for a treat. Hailing from Gainesville, Florida, the group brings a fascinating take on contemporary music by combining elements of indie rock, folk, and electronic music. Their focus on creating a surreal ambiance is executed brilliantly by arranging a variety of organic and synthetic sounds, with each part combining magnificently to create a psychedelic effect. It is also surprising to note that Hundred Waters is signed to OWSLA, a clear indication that Skrillex's affinity for rock has not diminished. The group consists of Nicole Miglis on vocals, piano, flute; Trayer Tryon on production, electronics, bass; and Zach Tetreault on drums, percussion, trumpet. My favorite song off the EP is "Everywhere," a blissful tune reminiscent of sweet dreams through the usage of mellow drums, ethereal vocal synths, and flawless production. Keep on the lookout for a live set by Hundred Waters, a performance sure to take you on a journey.
