With “Squid Siren” and “Vacuum,” Revazz squeezes in a pair of songs that just might tickle your fancy

Squid Siren / Vacuum

There are two aspects of music-making that Revazz particularly excels in. The first involves the way his low-end grinds against the accompanying kicks and snares—a distinctly saturated bassline that refuses to stay still. The second thing is his song title game. Honesty and clarity are valued by this Washington D.C. producer; what you see is what you’ll hear. “Zipperzz” contains a lead that sounds…zippery. Drum & bass percussion and squeaky hardwood sounds combine to become the track “Floor Racket.” So take a guess: what do you think “Squid Siren” and “Vacuum” will remind you of? Revazz smartly chooses idiosyncrasy over complexity to set himself apart from the rest of the field. You might not think his tracks are catchy, but I bet you won’t be able to get that synth out of your brain.

Judge shows off his range of trunk busters on his debut EP “X”

X by JUDGE FEATURING WAX MOTIF (@waxmotif) (twitter.com/waxmotif) X&G (@xandg) (twitter.com/xandgmusic) DYLAN BRADY (@lilbandotho) (twitter.com/dylanbrady) ALEXANDER LEWIS (@alexanderjlewis) (twitter.com/_alexanderlewis) GRAVES (@wearegraves) (twitter.com/wearegraves) ART by MIKEY JOYCE (https://www.instagram.com/mikeyjoyce/)

You know what’s arguably than the resonating sensation of achievement? The feelings tied not only to immediate success, but also to the realization that there’s much more to come. For newcomer Judge, his moment arrived earlier this year when he saw Young Thug rapping over his beat on Instagram—and later on, actualized as the final track on Beautiful Thugger Girls. And after a summer packed with festival runs and major cosigns, Judge confidently trots out his debut EP. Every track is a collaborative effort, and each of them bear fruit in strikingly varied ways. Although originally a hip-hop beatmaker, the Kansas City native feels at home joining forces with both X&G’s low-end capabilities and Alexander Lewis’ signature horns. With neurotic soundscapes paired with pristine mixes that’re guaranteed to knock you out, “X” is Judge’s worthy stride through the halls of the electronic music scene.

Yugi boi reinvents T-Pain's "FBGM"

With T-Pain’s consistent flow of chart-topping singles and steamy club bangers, it’s only inevitable that a musically complex remix emerges from the depths of the Internet. Yugi Boi takes on the challenge of reinventing “F.B.G.M.” (acronym for Fuck Bitches Get Money). The challenge involves taking a club-friendly single, already oozing that trademarked sex appeal so often found in T-Pain’s music, and making it slam even more. What makes Yugi Boi’s remix worthy of a listen are just a few simple additions of amplified drums, manipulated vocals, electronic sound bites, and more. Still pining for more remixes of classic hip-hop bangers? From Childish Gambino to Ty Dolla $ign, Yugi Boi’s got you covered. And remember, F.B.G.M.

delay. delivers rumbling production on "adolescence"

A little spooky and a little sinister, Delay comes in hard with a rumbling electronic production that is “Adolescence.” He teases us with an electronic sound bite that alternates between the left and right ear, then thunderous sound effects begin to fill in the soundscape. “Adolescence” allows for an exploration of dark synthesized sounds and classical piano tunes that fuse modernity with tradition. And Delay’s past releases have encompassed similarly complex instrumentals that ease a suspenseful buildup into a tempestuous trap beat. Shifting the focus onto the artwork of “Adolescence” highlights two competing images: a traditional Asian temple and the celestial bodies of Jupiter and Saturn. We can only hope for more tracks that incorporate both elements of tradition and modernity. Keep those eyes peeled for Delay’s newest project titled “Between 2 Worlds” emerging this summer.

anh & mo vibez - spacin (feat. anuka)

Bending the boundaries of the future trap game, rising producer ANH and Austrian beat specialist Mo Vibez link up on new single "Spacin" featured on Elysian Records. ANH is a relatively new name on the Soundcloud radar, and although he's posted only a few tracks, his chops are undeniable as demonstrated in his music and the talented producers he works with. This song diverts a bit from ANH's usual style of mellow beats and combines a lot of wonky and heavy hitting elements influenced by Mo Vibez to give this track a natural bounce. The most distinguishing characteristic of this song lies in the complexity of instrumentation, spanning a lush variety of ethnic samples ranging from flutes to guitars. Topped off by guest vocals by Anuka, this track has all the components to lead you from a dreamy landscape to grimey industrialism. Keep up to date with the latest by Mo Vibez and ANH, who's set to release his Preach EP soon.

quix - heaps cool ep

It's been an absolute thrill watching Australian producer QUIX grow, transitioning from his humble beginnings as a gardener to dropping mosh-pit inducing filth at festival stages. Today, he's back with more, showing us his flexibility as a producer on his latest Heaps Cool EP released on DIm Mak. What's interesting about this project is that QUIX manages to not only cater to a wide audience, but also maintain that classic trap style we all love while still experimenting.  You can grab a sense of each with the tracks  "Four Letter Die" and "Riot Call" bringing us that festival flavor, "Alpaca" and "Lucy's Place" reuniting us with that OG QUIX, and "Deep Home" and "Sweet Thing" diverging a bit from his usual style of production. Overall, the EP lacks an element of unity, but individually the songs display next-level production with impeccable sound design. Quix's rapid rise is on the horizon, keep on the lookout!

oski - go my way (feat. the arcturians)

Festival season is in full force, and Australian producer Oski brings the heat on his latest release "Go My Way," giving us a preview of his upcoming Kid Calamity EP. Featured on UZ's label Quality Good Records, the Sydney based producer diverges from his usual industrial trap style to bring us a track more dance oriented for the festival setting. Oski's versatility as a producer is showing extreme promise with an ID from his latest mix giving us a taste of his electro Rezz-esque production. It's very exciting to watch Oski's steady rise, as he consistenly brings us a fresh experimental take on electronic music, a trait common to many Aussie producers. If you enjoyed this track, also check out his debut EP Kid Chrome; the future trap vibes are strong on this one.

sumthin sumthin & lemay - stunt

DIEHIGH Records has always been one of my favorite labels, representing the future of trap music with artists such as lux.impala, Aztek, Holly, and Chiefs. Yesterday, they returned from a 4-month hiatus with an absolute banger for the masses to enjoy. Wonky synths meets dance floor filth in this monster of a collaboration by LA-based producer sumthin sumthin and Lemay. The first drop of the song provides the classic sumthin sumthin bounce, and layers the perfect context for a build into a furious, high octane second drop with metallic synths reminding you of robotic elephants. Keep an eye out for these rising artists, with their experimental takes on trap receiving support from the likes of graves, Slander, Diplo, and Candyland.  If you liked this song, also check out "Hiccup" by sumthin sumthin and "Countless" by Lemay.

esta. - catalina dea

Coming off his recent EP "Luci," Soulection artist esta. continues to demonstrate his beat-making prowess in his new single "catalina dea." Esta's music is most characterized by his excellent sample selection, using unique and unpredictable sounds from all over the world to meld with the modern attractions of heavy-hitting drums and gliding 808 basslines. This particular song samples Puerto Rican salsa classic "Catalina de O" by Pete El Conde Rodriguez, with esta's production providing the perfect complement to make this song a groovy banger.

nüsense selects: aedfx

Dayton Moon, better known as aedfx, is a St.Louis musician that has been making waves in the underground trap community. Having been recognized by the likes of established taste-makers such as Zen Supremacy and Diplo Approved, Moon has been on the rise and on our radars for quite some time. He has worked with some extremely talented artists such as Dabow and for good reason as his music is a truly unique style of trap that has crafted atmospheres, hard hitting percussion and interesting synth work that keeps the listener on their toes and refreshed.
